POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Sukenik lab at the University of California, Merced is looking for a Postdoctoral Scholar interested in working at the interface of molecular biophysics and protein design. The project will examine the interplay between the cellular environment and protein structure and function using cutting-edge technologies.
The candidate will be responsible for the design, execution, and analysis of state-of-the-art high throughput experiments aimed at resolving how sequence and environment translate into function in disordered proteins.
A successful candidate will get a unique opportunity to conduct independent research in a supportive, collegiate, inclusive, and highly collaborative work environment. An integral part of the job involves mentoring a diverse cohort of graduate students and coordinating research with both national and international collaborators.

QUALIFICATIONS
PhD, MD (or foreign equivalent).
Excellent organization, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Ability to conduct independent research.
Deep mutational scanning studies.
Protein biophysics.
Next-gen sequencing and analysis.
