The Toro Company is now hiring a Field Test Technician at our Rancho Mirage, CA golf course test location.
Hours: M-F 5:30AM-2PM
Approximate Pay Range: $26-33/hour, Depending on Experience

What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

Evaluating operation of prototype, production, and competitor units in field conditions according to established and/or newly developed safety, durability, and performance standards.

Gathering data on the performance of products and prototypes and identify and recommend solutions as needed.

Maintaining daily logs on all test projects and may write periodic, interim, and final data summaries as required.

Performing required maintenance, teardown and inspections of test units and record findings for inclusion in reliability and maintainability summaries.

Assisting in design, construction, and development of specialized test fixturing and test stands.

Providing direction and/or instruction to other technicians, assist in arrangements for testing (to include manpower, location, and transport).

Participating in field improvement projects, in field safety initiatives and perform duties with adherence to safety protocols.

Participating in quality initiatives and training as needed, and support company Quality policy.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements. This role may qualify as a Technician I, Technician II, or Technician III depending on the skills of the candidate hired.

Requirements for Technician I: Technical College graduate with minimum of two-year degree or certificate. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related technical role --OR – Bachelor’s degree in a technical related field (ex. Automotive, Manufacturing, Design, Agriculture) and minimum of two (2) years’ experience --OR-- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in lieu of education in a mechanical/electrical role.

Requirements for Technician II: Associates degree or equivalent two year technical degree (4 year technical degree preferred)
in engineering technology, mechanics or related field. Between 3 - 5 year’s mechanical or technical experience required with advanced knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment. -
Requirements for Technician III: Two or four year technical degree or equivalent. Minimum of 7 years mechanical or technical experience required.

Requirements for all positions:

Experience with data acquisition devices highly desirable. (e.g., SoMat etc.)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (word, excel etc.) is required.

Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication, teamwork, flexibility, motivation, dependability etc.

Demonstrated troubleshooting capability.
-
Must be able to work independently and in team environment supporting cross-functional staff members.

Maintain DOT-regulated health card for product transportation.

Able to meet requirements of driving company owned vehicle.

Ability to drive forklift.
