Associate Director of Admission
Job Description:
Position Summary:
Reporting to and in consultation with the Director of Enrollment Strategies and Operations, the Associate Director is expected to fully engage in a broad range of Office of Admission activities, including but not limited to the responsibilities described below.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as an integral member of the Admission team that is responsible for recruiting and enrolling students who fulfill the College’s mission.
- Support the mission of the Office of Admission in growing the diversity within the applicant pool and enrolling class. Work collaboratively with the office’s leadership team to create complementary communication plans and event programming to help meet this objective.
- Assist as a Slate vice-captain and administrator with a focus on Deliver, Reports, Portals and Configurable Joins. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and SQL is a plus.
- Teach and empower colleagues of varying skill levels to use different aspects of Slate.
- Lead the Office of Admission’s communications team. Plan and execute strategies, create communication flows and templates for varying audiences, programs or channels, and evaluate metrics of our different efforts.
- Liaison to the College’s Office of Communications and Marketing. Manage the creation, editing, and track the progress of projects (print and digital), assure fulfillment in a timely manner, and oversee cost and inventory. Collaborate with the College’s website manager to ensure that the Office of Admission site is current and compliant. This may include editing and restructuring of the site. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Content Management Systems is a plus.
- Learn the College’s mission and ethos. Keep current with the College’s academic programs, support services, and co-curricular offerings.
- Represent the college and build relationships with prospective students, their families, high school counselors, and community members. This includes interviewing prospective students and some off-campus recruitment travel.
- Evaluate applications for admission in a timely manner and participate fully in the committee based selection process of candidates for admission.
- Participate in and assist with the planning and implementation of recruitment and yield activities as well as special programs.
- Practice discretion and maintain confidentiality of records, correspondence, and information, regardless of the format.
- Maintain focus on several activities and priorities. Anticipate seasonal variations in the workload.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Highly skilled user of Slate CRM by Technolutions especially with regards to Deliver, Reports, Portals, and Configurable Joins. Ability to independently:
- leverage independent subqueries and configurable joins throughout the database (e.g., queries, reports, automations)
- construct email campaigns and populations, along with one-off mailings that utilize content blocks and liquid markup (including liquid looping)
- build portals for different constituents (e.g., prospective students, ambassadors, campus partners)
- design or update for consistent styling across Slate modules (e.g., mailings, forms, portals). Proficiency in HTML and CSS is a plus.
- Excellent presentation skills in disseminating information cohesively to a broad range of audiences.
- Possession of a strong work ethic, personal integrity, and a sense of humor are extremely valuable.
- Skilled in the operation of a computer, data entry techniques, and specified software including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.) and G Suite (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Slides etc.).
- Able and willing to travel (up to two weeks at a time, seasonal) and work weekend and evening hours as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
- 4 or more years of previous experience in college admissions or related environments is required. An understanding and appreciation of highly selective admission is appealing but not required.
- 2 or more years of previous experience with Technolutions’ Slate CRM is strongly preferred. Familiarity with HTML and CSS is preferred. Data analysis and/or statistics, preferably in the context of admission, higher education or a similar environment is appreciated.
Licenses/Certifications: Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the College’s automobile insurance carrier.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the staff member is regularly required to sit; stand use hands and fingers and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The individual must regularly lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Hours:
Regular hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Hours will vary to meet the needs of the department or college and may include weekends and evenings especially when travel is required.
Classification:
This is an exempt, full-time, benefits-eligible position.
Salary
The anticipated starting salary is $73,000.00 - $85,000.00/year. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
