Position Summary:
This recruitment is for a Temporary entry Landscape through UC Irvine's internal temporary service and is based within UC Irvine's main campus at the Anteater Recreation Center.
Groundskeepers perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled grounds maintenance and gardening tasks; and perform other related duties as required.
Incumbents typically work as a part of a regular crew involved in the care and maintenance of plants, shrubs, trees, hedges, flowers, lawns and bard surfaced areas on the campus grounds; mow lawns and fields; edge around walks, flower beds, walls and similar areas; trim and prune shrubs, hedges and trees; prepare and fertilize soil for planting; spray landscaped areas with insecticides and herbicides; hoe weeds and rake lawns; water various ground areas by hand or by operating the sprinkler system; perform minor maintenance on hard surfaced areas such as walks and roadways; operate trucks, power mowers, power edgers, and a variety of attachments and grounds equipment or tools; service and make minor repairs or adjustments to equipment; may lay out and maintain athletic fields; and may use carpentry tools in simple construction of facilities such as wooden retaining walls.
Total Compensation:

Temporary employees may be eligible for partial benefits based on full-time, 100% appointment and is subject to collective bargaining agreements. Compensation Range:
$20.81 (hourly) is expected pay range within the full salary range of $20.81- $27.48 (hourly)
Required:
- Must have experience working outdoors and basic knowledge of tools typically used in groundskeeping work.
- Mus be reliable and consistent in attendance
Preferred:
- At least 6 months Groundskeeper experience
TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT:
- This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department.
- Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements.
- Certain temporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver's License for driving university vehicles.
