Job Summary
The OVRO staff is developing novel methods of antenna reflector construction. This involves building equipment and testing methods and materials. A person with experience in mechanical engineering is required to assist with these tasks.
Essential Job Duties
- Design and build an annealing oven
- Test material hardness and ductility
- Perform other essential duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Valid driver license and ability to maintain it throughout the course of employment
- Experience working in a remote location
- At least 1 year of a Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree
- Basic knowledge of material properties
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience of working at an observatory
