This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote.
DESCRIPTION
The Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute (ACTRI), an organized research unit established to provide education, training, and infrastructure for clinical research in UC San Diego Health Sciences. It encompasses four hospital systems, two universities and four biomedical research organizations. The ACTRI provides clinical and translational research support across a wide collaboration of units. The ACTRI is highly collaborative with affiliations that stretch across UC San Diego and San Diego State University to the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute and the Salk Institute, to Rady Children's Hospital and the VA San Diego Health Care System, to nonprofit and biotech/pharma.
The Biomedical Informatics division of ACTRI provides leading edge information systems and expert management, in support of clinical and translational research. Computational services are hosted within a HIPAA compliant secure research cloud, including integrations with health system EHR, CTMS, informatics and clinical data warehouse systems.
The ACTRI division of Biomedical Informatics (BMI) is a leader in using, innovating and providing informatics technologies and services to enable advances in healthcare research and collaborations. Focusing on data-oriented infrastructure, computational science and biomedical informatics applications such as Epic EHR and Research Module, Velos CTMS, Biospecimen, REDCap, and AWS HIPAA cloud. ACTRI-BMI serves as a UCSD and national resource for clinical data informatics expertise, consultation and collaborations. Ourcyberinfrastructure services integrates software, hardware, and professional consultancy in multi-disciplinary Health Sciences translational research.
The incumbent will serve as the expert for the CTMS applications within the CTRI and across Health Sciences. Responsible for implementation of research studies in these CTMS in order to improve the efficiency of conducting studies, improving revenue capture, and enhance the quality of study data. Works closely with the study team to construct study calendars, data collection forms (i.e., case report forms), budgets, reports, and other such tools. Provides training to users of the applications and guides other analysts configuring these applications. Responsible for the identification of issues related to the construction processes and the re-engineering of such processes, including documentation, standard operating procedure (SOP) creation and training, where feasible.
Incumbent will coordinate the construction of these tools across Health Sciences so that a consistent implementation approach is executed by all implementation analysts in CTRI and other departments or groups. Incumbent will establish shared development processes, configuration guidelines, and style sheets for these tools. Facilitates communications among all implementation analysts in various departments through meetings and electronic communications tools.
Incumbent is responsible for monitoring, verifying, and validating the integrity of various tools and data elements in one or more applications that support a core set of needs: including, but not limited to: regulatory tracking and reviews, study set-up, subject enrollment, budgeting, and invoicing. Under general direction, the incumbent independently prioritizes assignments and completes ongoing tasks following established University, ORU and Federal research guidelines.
Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides direction to staff according to established policies and management guidance. Administers policies that directly affect subordinate staff. Recommends changes to department policies and practices. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Provide priority setting and work flow analysis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.
Demonstrated ability to lead a technical staff of IT and / or scientific personnel, including projects performed by multiple developers.
