POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position requires creative contributions to an active research program investigating primary cilium in the developing brain. The candidate will help to determine research goals in consultation with the Principal Investigator. The candidate will design projects related to neurodevelopment and cell signaling, including selecting appropriate methods and techniques. The candidate will involve in technique development, troubleshooting, results interpreting and planning for the follow-up experiments. In some cases, the candidate will supervise and provide technical training to students or technicians. The candidate will participate in the writing of lab safety protocols and animal protocols.
The candidate will participate in the preparation of manuscript for publication in peer-reviewed journals, books and other outlets in collaboration with the PI and other members of the research team. The candidate will assist in proposal writing for funding from federal and state agencies and other funding organizations. The candidate will prepare and assist in the preparation of reports as required by granting agencies. The candidate will give presentations on his/her research at laboratory meeting or other professional conferences.
The candidate will engage in public outreach activities, including presenting scientific research results to the general public, and supervising research participants specified in related federal grants.
QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate needs to have a PhD degree in the related areas and postdoc research experience in cell biology, neurobiology and developmental biology. Research experience with cell culture and animal model is required.
Preference will be given to applicants with profound experience in proximity labeling and proteomics.
