The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic, assigned to the Plumbing Shop within the Maintenance & Operations unit of Facilities Development & Operations, works independently or as a team member under the general supervision of the Plumbing Shop Supervisor. The incumbent works as a skilled generalist utilizing journey level skills in plumbing trades along with strong skills in other trade areas (mechanical, electrical, carpentry) to perform a variety of skilled preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction and renovation work on utility infrastructure systems. Typically, skills are utilized to maintain and repair plumbing equipment and systems associated with University buildings and utilities infrastructure so as to ensure a clean, safe and attractive campus/learning environment.
