SRA 2 - SOM: Internal Medicine Nephrology Davis Campus (SRA 2)
Job Summary
Join us in our pursuit of scientific discovery as we seek independent, highly motivated researchers. If you're passionate about applying cutting-edge technologies to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets in kidney diseases, this opportunity is for you.
Research questions include:
1) The role of kidney-specific and kidney-enriched proteins in kidney disease using tissue proteomics.
2) Investigating the mechanisms of kidney disease progression, such as aberrant EGF pathway signaling, using single cell proteomic, molecular biology and biochemical tools.
3) Understanding the molecular mechanisms of metabolic memory and identifying molecular biomarkers for metabolic memory towards conduct of a precision clinical intervention.
This position reports directly to the principle investigator and will participate in publishable research, lead projects understanding kidney disease progression, and are encouraged to develop independent projects. A rare opportunity available in this position is access to a unique and powerful pipeline, including a repository of human kidney tissues (surgical remnant) for kidney diseases impacting large number of patients, together with a powerful multiplex immunofluorescence platform and a multifaceted data analysis team. This will yield competitive publishable data which will generate an impactful publication record for upward mobility within this or other academic centers or transition to academic pursuits (medical or graduate).
