The Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production seeks one to three highly qualified individuals to serve as the director of our Winter production and/or teach two courses in Acting Management and/or Public Speaking in the Spring 2024 quarter. Applicants are requested to note if they are interested in one, two, or all three of these following positions.
* Winter 2024: TFDP 170 - Performance in Production
o Direct our mainstage production of VIETGONE by Qui Nguyen. VIETGONE is a music-filled, raucous romantic comedy set against the trauma of the Vietnam War. Production calendar is available upon request and directors are required to attend all meetings, rehearsals, and some performances. Production calendars are available upon request.
* Spring 2024: TFDP 050 - Public Speaking
o This course has enrollment of up to 150-students and serves students across disciplines. The instructor will be expected to design and deliver lectures introducing students to the tenets and principles of speech construction and dynamic delivery. The course is practice-based and aims to provide students with the communicative skills for professional careers and community life. The instructor will work closely with three TAs to provide pedagogical support.
* Spring 2024: TFDP 185 - Arts, Management, and Community
o This course has enrollment of up to 75 students. If enrollment reaches 60 students, then assigned readers will assist the lecturers with grading. The course is an introduction to business and arts management including the study of film and television production, stage management, and music production. Should offer hands-on experience for practicing management skills working in partnership with artists, fellow student-artists, and/or local organizations.
Appointments will begin January 2, 2024 for Winter 2024 quarter and April 1, 2024 for Spring quarter with a salary of approximately $7362.11 for teaching TFDP050 and TFDP 185, and approximately #11,043.17 for directing TFDP 170. Positions are contingent upon funding and enrollment.

Required Qualifications: MFA. or equivalent experience in relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications: Directing experience in the professional realm or at the university level is desired. Teaching experience at the university level is desired.
