Job Summary
The incumbent will be part of the Finance Division, Patient Revenue - Revenue Integrity & Health Information Management Enterprise Services team and responsible for interpretation and monitoring of enterprise-wide integrated applications. The individual will serve as subject matter expert for all health system Revenue Management activity. This person should be an expert in Revenue Management with focus on revenue timeliness and reconciliation and reporting. In addition, this individual will serve as liaison and as subject matter expert for other Revenue Integrity domains as well as working with other Revenue Cycle departments and our vendor systems and support. This individual will work with department administrators, cross functional work groups, Information Technology project management, and outside vendors and consulting services to ensure optimization and revenue integrity and maximization. This position is also responsible to provide system process support, problem resolution, project management, analytical, research, and statistical support to the billing process in the areas of revenue integrity and contract management. Responsible for aiding in maintaining systems, processes, and workflows, for the timely and accurate recording of hospital/professional revenue regarding charge capture.
Technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in specific areas; problem solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues/problems without precedent and/or structure. Works with internal and external departments to formulate strategies and administer policies, processes, and resources, functions with a high degree of autonomy. Involves revenue cycle functions for the healthcare enterprise, including system billing, reporting and support. Impacts processes to include charge capture, documentation and coding, data entry, billing, and contract management. Provides expert analysis and reporting of revenue performance; act as a department liaison for Revenue Monitoring; identification and tracking of issues related to revenue in partnership with other Revenue Integrity Domains, particularly Charge Capture, to maximize revenue and increase efficiency. The primary functions of this position are analysis, system/process development, problem resolution and workflow oversight. This position requires an expert level of operations and contract knowledge, a high level of independence and creativity, advanced analytical skills and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of workflows and systems in revenue cycle program areas, to identify weaknesses and develop innovative solutions and process improvements, sound judgment, as well as organizational and priority setting abilities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working with healthcare information systems
- Experience working with revenue cycle information systems or system implementation teams for complex projects, application development and/or support
- Charge Capture/Coding/Clinical Documentation analysis/management experience
- Expert knowledge of and demonstrated skill with various spreadsheet and software applications including MICROSOFT EXCEL and WORD, Clearinghouse, Contract Management and Patient Accounting Systems.
- Ability to work cooperatively and constructively with employees and Administration.
- Ability to develop evaluation criteria for improving departmental activities/programs.
- Ability to develop reports or correspondence as required.
- Ability to use billing codes, including CPT, HCPCS, Revenue Codes & ICD-10.
- Knowledge of Health System methods, policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Related degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience within a healthcare facility.
- Knowledge of Epic billing system, particularly basic functions, database structure, and reporting capabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of Huron reporting tools and reporting capabilities preferred.
- In-depth understanding of the issues, processes, reporting instruments, metrics, dashboard design, and other tools and techniques involved with measuring and analyzing the revenue cycle. Ability to analyze a large volume of data and report it in a succinct, meaningful manner.
- In-depth knowledge of the practices, procedures, and concepts of the healthcare revenue cycle and its component operations, including billing, collections, charge capture, coding, compliance, contractual terms, third-party reimbursements, and cash management.
- Strong ability to advise management, serving as a technical expert, providing proposals for improvement and guidance on regulatory changes and industry trends and developments in revenue cycle management.
- Technical knowledge of all sources of revenue generation, including CDM, Charge Capture, CDI, Coding, and all other related areas.
- Advanced skills in report development and various software tools specific to healthcare revenue cycle management. Skills in common database, spreadsheet and presentation software.
- Develops and implements changes to systems, policies and procedures to maintain currency in government regulations, reimbursement issues and other matters having potential financial impact.
- In-depth understanding of the issues, processes, reporting instruments, metrics, dashboard design, and other tools and techniques involved with measuring and analyzing the revenue cycle. Ability to review the work product of departmental employees and report findings.
