Position description
Dr. Wan Du, Professor in Computer Science & Engineering is looking for a self-motivated, creative, enthusiastic, and highly qualified postdoctoral scholar expert in machine learning and distributed system development. The postdoc researcher will work on a project that will focus on developing machine learning systems for building energy optimization and its integration with smart grid and smart electric vehicle transportation.
The successful candidate will have previous training and an established track record positioning them to be competent at machine learning algorithm design and distributed system development. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to perform the following:

Basic qualifications
The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree by the time of employment in Computer Science or a related field. The candidate is expected to have at least one paper published in a top conference (conferences counted in CS ranking) is required. Candidate should have hands-on research experience in at least one of the following machine learning systems, i.e., reinforcement learning, large language model (LLM), and federated learning. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Additional qualifications
Coding skills and background knowledge on machine learning.
