Stanford Transportation manages Stanford's award-winning Transportation Demand Management program, which includes Stanford's free Marguerite shuttle program, transit and car-free options, bicycle program, and parking operations.
We have an exciting job opportunity for a TDM Program Manager at our Stanford Redwood City Campus location.
What you will do in this role:
The TDM Program Manager leads the development, implementation, and administration of Stanford's Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program, one of the nation's leading University TDM programs, and functions related to the program. This role regularly collaborates with University stakeholders as well as public agencies, operators, and vendors who provide services related to the TDM program.
TDM Policy and Program Administration (50%)
- Oversee policy and administration of Stanford Transportation's TDM programs, including its transit pass programs, vanpool program, sustainable commute planning, and other awareness and incentive programs.
- Evaluate programs, functions, policies, and procedures based on data, trends, benchmarking, and research. Identify issues and develop alternative solutions, which may include changes to programs, policies and procedures.
- Recommend improvements to existing TDM programs and customer service, and recommend potential program expansions to achieve Stanford Transportation's mission, vision, and values as well as the University's regulatory requirements across Stanford lands.
- Collaborate closely with Stanford Transportation's Communications team and others to ensure a high level of confidence in online and printed materials. Contribute to the development of outreach strategies that may include relationship development, communications, and compliance.
Program Management (30%)
- Manage and develop the TDM Programs team, including the Sustainable Commute Programs Lead and two Sustainable Transportation Administrative Associates. Assess training needs and advocate for the team's continued growth.
- Manage contracts, budgets, procurement processes, vendor and client relationships, and build and maintain robust partnerships with internal and external stakeholders directly impacted by and/or involved in our program offerings.
- Develop and oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.
- Represent the program and functions within the university by committing resources and providing information and/or training. Represent the program and functions at the university level to external stakeholders and constituencies.
- This position reports to the Director of Policy & TDM and is an involved member of the Stanford Transportation Operations management team.
Customer Service & Events Management (20%)
- Ensure the highest levels of TDM program customer service, including inquiries, problem resolution, and sustainable commute planning services. Analyze TDM program participation and customer feedback and make recommendations for improvements. Act as an escalation
point for customer inquiries. - Oversee the TDM Team's participation in new employee orientations and
campus events to further build awareness and engagement around the
use of sustainable modes of transportation.

To be successful in this role you must bring:
- Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

- Strong relevant subject matter knowledge. Knowledge of the regional transportation network, agencies, and policies and prior experience in transportation planning or marketing are preferred.

- Demonstrated solid planning and organizational skills.

- Demonstrated ability to develop and meet budget goals.
Certifications and Licenses:
- TDM-CP preferred.
Physical Requirements*:
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
- Occasionally use a telephone.
- Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.

Pay Range:
The expected pay range for this position is $69,000 to $130,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
