Position Information: Join our Team! The Transportation Systems Research (TSR) group within the Bourns College of Engineering Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT) is seeking an entry-level Jr. Development Engineer and Resource Coordinator.
Position Overview: This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in automotive research and development while gaining experience in resource coordination and project management. It offers a unique opportunity to blend technical engineering tasks with resource coordination, contributing to innovative research and development in advanced vehicle technologies.
The hiring department can recruit and fill this role at different levels within the position classification series. The full salary range for the Jr. Development Engineer and Resource Coordinator is $61,000 - $106,800 annually. However, the pay scale for this position is up to $80,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Minimum Requirements
Basic knowledge of engineering principles and methods to perform entry-level professional engineering functions.
Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of the field.
Analytical skills, and strong skills in attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical and judgment skills to conduct analyses and develop appropriate recommendations.
Ability to work in a collaborative manner.
Basic knowledge of automotive research hardware and software.
Familiarity with data acquisition systems and digital communication protocols (in-vehicle and vehicle-to-everything).
Basic programming skills and an understanding of on-board vehicle electronics.
Strong organizational and coordination skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and organizations.
