As a Research Administrator 2 at the prestigious Bourns College of Engineering, University of California, Riverside, you will play a key role in supporting our faculty and research initiatives. This exciting position offers the opportunity to work independently on small to medium-size proposals and contribute to large-scale projects. You will provide comprehensive support to faculty in preparing proposals, including reading funding opportunities, developing budgets, coordinating with collaborators, and ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements. Your efforts will directly contribute to the success of our research programs, helping to secure funding and advance groundbreaking engineering research.
What You Will Do? Develop and Support Proposals: Collaborate with faculty to prepare and submit high-quality research proposals, ensuring all components are compliant and competitive.
Coordinate and Advise: Work closely with the Office of Research and Economic Development (RED) to manage proposal submissions, provide guidance to Principal Investigators (PIs), and address any compliance issues.
Build Relationships: Foster professional relationships with sponsor representatives and identify relevant funding opportunities to support the research goals of Bourns College.
Maintain Resources: Manage proposal archives, maintain commonly used resources, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our proposal development processes.

The full salary range for the Research Administrator 2 is $33.11 - $48.39 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Minimum Requirements
Ability to manage a high volume of transactions
Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization; communication skills; and a customer service focus
Ability to perform moderately complex financial analysis
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally verbally and in writing
Experience with Kuali, Grants.gov, NSF Research.gov, NIH ERA Commons, Cayuse, SciENcv, and Orcid
Ability to read, and understand the technical, administrative, and budgetary requirements of funding opportunities/solicitations
Detail oriented
Experience with MS Office, Google Box, DropBox, and other cloud-based collaboration tools
Proficiency working with computer and information management systems
Knowledge of grant funding processes, procedures and techniques
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting and fiscal principles
Writing skills to draft persuasive text for a variety of audiences
Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis and fiscal management
Knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines
Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration
