The Associate Director, Facilities Operations is responsible for the daily, effective operation and management of all MDRH facilities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Works collaboratively with the Director for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations of facilities and ensures safe, efficient operations. • Helps develops and maintain policies and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of facilities and the plant operations. • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards and licensure requirements. • Works collaboratively with various departments to ensure regulatory compliance for audits, permits, city inspections, and hospital specific requirements. • Responsible for budget management, labor, variance reports, supply cost management, and resource allocation. • Develops business and operations plans for the unit and for specific programs and services within it. • Collaborates with senior management in cross-functional process improvement, collaborative teamwork, open communication and problem solving to ensure the effective coordination and integration of services with and between units. • Knowledge of TJC, CMS, Title 22, Fire and Life Safety, and all applicable regulatory standards. Is able to facilitate and manage the EOC meetings. Participates in routine EOC rounds and collaborates with all major stakeholders to achieve optimal operating conditions. Exceptional record keeping and organization. • Coordinates and oversees renovations, modifications and works collaboratively with FDPC for new construction. Works with engineers and architects to solve mechanical and building system deficiencies. • Provides space planning options and alternatives on drawings and floor plans. Provides recommendations on utilizing available space to meet the business needs. • Manages productivity through work order volume, completion rates, resolves barriers to completion, and assigns staff to support. Leads QAPI projects, Performance monitoring, Team development, Process Optimization. KPI’s for benchmarking. • Holds huddles and meetings with staff to maintain engagement and productivity. Develops employees to meet ever changing competencies and serve the growing demands of the facility. Coordinates educational opportunities and in-service education for staff. • Manages contracts for preventative maintenance of critical utilities and facility operations. • Holds vendors accountable for high reliability, safety, and scope of work. • Clinical Engineering oversight: contract compliance, quality, accounting and budget. Policies and procedure for BioMed/Clinical Engineering.
High School Diploma/GED - minimum education required; bachelor's degree preferred
3 - 5 years preferred experience Working in building and facility operations
2 years minimum required leading and managing people, including selecting, developing,?? motivating and retaining people
2 years preferred working in building and facility operations in a Healthcare setting
