What you will do in this role:
Crew members perform manual labor and operate light equipment setting up and striking equipment for events (e.g., chairs, tables, umbrellas, stanchions, temporary stages...etc.) In addition, the event crew supports other functions/departments with manual labor in moving various items.
Assignments are received on a day-to-day or task-by-task basis. Typically, there are 2 to 3 crew members per truck that operate as a team to provide the specified services. Crew member may work alone or as a member of a larger crew.
Job/event specifics detailed on pull sheet for crew to gather accurate inventory, follow instructions to implement on-site and/or ensure that all equipment is returned in a rentable condition.
May be assigned to another university department to perform labor under the supervision of department personnel.
Crew members must abide by safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Awareness of surroundings to ensure that event set-up or strike activity has minimal impact.
Provide excellent customer service.
Participate in cross training of other team members.
Knowledge of campus roads, buildings, and pedestrian zones.
May drive a truck up to 24 feet in length (not to exceed 3 tons).
May operate a forklift.
Compliance with approved delivery routes /vehicle access.
When operating any vehicle, the crew is responsible for stocked expendables, cleanliness, and safe operation.

Occasionally sit, work/reach above shoulders, use telephone, write by hand, and operate hand controls.
Rarely, perform desk-based computer tasks, sort/file paperwork or parts, kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other) grasp lightly, sweep/scrub/mop.
Working Conditions:
May be required to work overtime, evenings, and weekends, including holidays, sometimes in inclement weather conditions.
May require training and certification as a forklift operator.
May be exposed to lasers and temperature extremes.
May wear uniform.
May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The expected pay range for this position is $23.82 (Step 1) - $28.74 (Step 10) per hour. Placement in the pay range is subject to the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
