OSFM-Designated Campus Fire Marshal
This position serves as the recognized UCSF subject matter expert on fire and life safety in campus design and construction. Under the terms of a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the University of California and Cal Fire - Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM), the incumbent serves as an OSFM-Designated Campus Fire Marshal (DCFM) to act on behalf of OSFM to do specialized plan review and field enforcement work; consults with fire officials, architects, engineers, contractors, and campus staff on problems of fire and panic safety in the design, construction, and operation of buildings and facilities at UCSF. This position will guide those subordinate staff in providing such support to construction projects as well as general fire and life safety inspection
