Under general direction, plans, organizes, directs and coordinates line management and staff services of specific trades for SMUCLA Medical Center and surrounding hospital buildings. Plan, direct, coordinate and supervise operational functions of Physical Plant and perform other related duties as required. Responsible either directly or indirectly of a crew of employees consisting of Facilities Mechanics, operating engineers, service engineers and skilled trades personnel. Other essential duties include contractor support for all construction activities on SMUCLA property. Coordinate core building system maintenance and repair with outside service providers for the utility systems.
Salary Range: $83,800 - $179,400
Qualifications
Bachelors degree with a focus in engineering.
5 years of experience in Building
System Maintenance.
Oversee the day to day operations
and maintenance of the Central Plant to ensure that the hospital is provided
with safe and reliable utilities and building systems.
Direct the ongoing repairs,
preventive maintenance, and testing of the Central Planty and its systems as
well as implement corrective and deferred maintenance projects to improve,
renew, and modify those systems.
Contract with and oversee outside
vendors providing services not performed by in-house staff.
Assist with identifying and the
planning of new hospital projects.Work with Cap Programs and PDC with any
construction projects affecting the Central Plant.
Maintain inventory of supplies and
tools by establishing par levels; researching parts and materials needed;
submitting purchase requests to the Health System Facilities Office staff.
Ensure that there is 24/7 direct
supervision of the Central Plant staff whether by yourself or by your assigned
designee.
Attend meetings and participate in
all Manager assigned committees such as Environment of Care, Life Safety,
Support Services, etc.
Ensure that the Central Plant is
in compliance with all applicable regulatory codes, standards, permits and
licenses and maintain all documentation required by Authority Having
Jurisdiction. (AHJ).
Responsible for communication to
all hospital administration, staff, and applicable personnel whether directly
or by your assigned designee for any maintenance work, planned and/or unplanned
outages and repairs that affect hospital operations.
Responsible to initiate and insure
the completion of any "Risk Assessments" and if necessary "Interim Life Safety
Measures" (ILSM), if applicable.
