Position Information: The UCR School of Medicine is seeking a Residency and Career Advisor to provide comprehensive career advising to medical students, particularly those in their fourth year preparing for residency. This role supports students in exploring medical specialty options, setting career goals, and enhancing their competitiveness for residency programs. Key responsibilities include individual and group advising, developing and facilitating workshops, coordinating faculty advisor involvement, and creating career-related resources. The advisor works collaboratively with Student Affairs and the Residency Development Specialist to ensure successful career outcomes for students. This position offers a hybrid schedule, with three days on campus and two days remote each week.
The UCR School of Medicine's Office of Student Affairs is dedicated to supporting medical students throughout their academic journey, from admission to graduation. The department offers a comprehensive suite of services, including academic advising, career and residency guidance, financial aid assistance, wellness resources, and student life programming. Its mission is to foster student success by providing equitable access to resources and cultivating a diverse, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. The office also manages key programs such as the Office of Career & Residency Advising, the Office of Student Support & Wellness, and various pathway and leadership initiatives, all aimed at preparing students to serve the healthcare needs of Inland Southern California and beyond.
The full salary range for the Residency and Career Advisor is $61,000 - $106,800 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $83,900 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
