Under the general direction of the Director of Major Capital Projects - Campus Design & Construction, the Associate Director for Major Capital Projects is primarily responsible for leading a project team delivering a single large capital project or program in compliance with all UCSF standards and policies and is accountable to all customers and campus leadership for overall project delivery of that major project.
This position will initially be responsible for leading the Parnassus Research and Academic Building and West Campus Development program. This $800M program is currently in Schematic Design and is a Progressive Design Build dellivery model. The project team, including this position, are colocated to an Integrated Center for Design and Construction (ICDC) on the Parnassus campus to foster collaboration and integration through in person colocation. The current project schedule invisions occupancy in 2027
Provides direct oversight for team of project delivery staff possessing varying experience, knowledge, and skill levels with emphasis on team and staff development end engagement, daily operations and functions, ensuring that customers remain well informed, project progress and meets all project objectives. The above is accomplished through effective leadership, exemplary customer service, effective stakeholder engagement, focused supervision, development and management of project delivery staff including, Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, and Senior Project Managers. This position is directly responsible for management of the design build team including leadership of the entire project team and stakeholders to deliver the project using integrated project delivery principles, processes, and aligned with the contract.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
