Department Overview
Working closely with each campus, Real Estate Services and Strategies (RESS) oversees policy, transactions, and activities for university-related real estate. RESS is responsible for negotiating acquisitions, sales and ground leases. We provide assistance to campuses and medical centers on strategic planning, business case analysis, due diligence and market, valuation, and financial feasibility analysis for real estate matters. RESS supports campus leasing, licensing and other real estate activities with consulting services, training, documents and forms. RESS also accepts, manages and sells endowment real estate received via gift and bequest, and consults with campus foundations.
Position Summary
As a member of the RESS team, the Senior Real Estate Officer is a technical expert in evaluating and negotiating the acquisition, lease, sale and development of property for the University. The position uses expert administration skills in providing leadership and professional services to attain the best use of the University's real estate assets which is strategic in carrying out the University's mission. It is responsible for managing a wide range of issues encountered in real estate transactions, interpreting University policy, navigating University practices and approval processes, and assuring transactions comply with University policy and best practices in the industry. The Senior Real Estate Officer is an expert in one or more of the disciplines within real estate with extensive decision-making and negotiation experience. The position may represent the real estate office in campus meetings, system wide forums, and meetings with external stakeholders related to field of expertise. Decision-making is based on established procedures and integration and / or interpretation of relevant laws, regulations and organization policy and professional best practices

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement within the state of California. The person hired will be required to reside within California and report to work on-site at UC's Office of the President (UCOP) located in Oakland, CA at least two core days per week, subject to change.

Full Salary Range:
$129,600 - $254,400
