Responsible for managing and maintaining employee injury prevention interventions including ergonomic worksite assessments, safe patient handling assessments, staff training; staff/leadership consultation; program development and measurement; and continued product/equipment evaluations. Provide injury root cause analysis with employee health case managers and consultants/physicians and operational leaders. Tracks and provides a variety of reports demonstrating program effectiveness, prevention value, as well as applicable risk reduction. Works with material management to facilitate the timely purchase and distribution of appropriate and recommended equipment. Collaborates with the design and construction management team to modify current existing work spaces and the plan of new work spaces.

Required Qualifications:
Previous Ergonomic Specialist training
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Must be available for on-call assignments or alternate work schedules including nights and weekends
Knowledge of principles of occupational health, safety and environmental protection.
Knowledge of and experience using computer software (databases, spreadsheets, powerpoint, and word processing) programs
Four years of professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in implementing relevant programs, policies and procedures, training/ information, reporting and record keeping programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Current State of California Driver's License
Bachelor's Degree or higher in related scientific field
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of federal and California state regulatory requirements and national standards regarding occupational health and safety.
Experience in a hospital environment
