The District Engineer is an unrepresented management employee subject to employment agreement.

The District is seeking a qualified District Engineer to join our leadership team. Under the general direction of the General Manager, this position manages and oversees all District engineering functions, including design, construction, inspection, and project management for public and private improvements.
The position oversees staff, consultants, and contractors; administers budgets and contracts; manages the Capital Improvement and Renewal & Replacement programs; and serves as project manager or engineer-of-record for major projects. Responsibilities include developing engineering policies and procedures, conducting technical studies, ensuring regulatory compliance (including CEQA), and maintaining accurate records of facilities and property rights.
The District Engineer represents the District in meetings with agencies, developers, and the public and plays a key role in advancing long-term infrastructure planning and operational efficiency.

Graduation from a four year ABET accredited college or university with major coursework in civil, mechanical, environmental, or sanitary engineering and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience managing and/or supervising engineering programs, including three (3) years of design and project leadership experience.
Possess and maintain a valid license as a Professional Engineer issued by the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.
