Information Sciences Institute (ISI), a unit of USCâs Viterbi School of Engineering, is a world leader in the research and development of advanced information processing, computing, and communications technologies, and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. ISI conducts research at three campuses utilizing leased facilities:Â one in Marina Del Rey, CA; one in Arlington, VA; and one in Waltham, MA.

Information Sciences Institute (ISI) seeks a Facilities Project Manager to:
1. Provide customer focused services and respond to requests from the ISI community consisting of faculty, staff, and students.
2. Manage the current support infrastructure to ensure highly reliable service.
3. Define and manage tenant improvements to ensure completion on budget and on schedule.
This position provides leadership and direction for day-to-day project operations and project-related administrative activities such as design, plan, schedule, scope, budget, vendor selection, and vendor management. The Facilities Project Manager will apply their working knowledge of emergency power generation systems, UPS systems, and HVAC chiller systems.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:
- Provides leadership and direction on all project operations and activities such as the design, plan, schedule, scope and budget. Supervises unit employees. Schedules, assigns, and prioritizes workloads. Sets appropriate deadlines. Monitors employee performance on a regular basis. Ensures timely completion of unitâs work.
- Ensures projects comply with university standards and specifications and local requirements. Provides construction phase support such as review of submittals, and documents and field observation.
- Manages and negotiates vendor services on assigned projects. Manages outside contractors and coordinates with University departments for facilities operations, maintenance, and construction and renovation projects.
- Oversees inspection, maintenance, repair, refurbishment and replacement of all assigned facilities, furnishings, etc. This is to include proper preventative maintenance and services to ensure reliable operation of all systems, such as power and HVAC.
- Develops and administers the annual operating budget for managed facilities. Reviews, authorizes, and monitors expenses for utilities, materials and supplies, repairs, maintenance, and project work. Provides budget reports on a regular basis.
- Prepares long and short-range plans for the use of facilities. Maintains analysis of space and equipment requirements and allocates usage based on departmental priorities.
- Inspects current building systems such as HVAC units, backup generator and UPS units, as well as, control logging and alarm systems. Determines whether systems need to be repaired, replaced, or retrofitted. Recommends equipment or system to install.
- Conducts quality assurance reviews to ensure that required work is satisfactorily performed and completed by qualified vendors.
- Conducts periodic security surveys. Coordinates and resolves security concerns. Controls procedures and access systems for facility access.
- Inspects equipment and coordinates required repairs and/or purchases.
- Effectively manages and monitors construction and renovation projects. Provides cost and status reports as requested.
- Manages telecommunications system for assigned facility to include coordination with vendor on installation, maintenance, and upgrade of systems. Provides for training of staff as needed.
- Coordinates energy management programs to achieve reduction of associated costs.
- Develops and implements security related procedures such as office opening and closing routines, recognition of duress signals and key controls. Promotes and maintains standards for security conscious awareness and behavior. Ensures dissemination of security related information to staff.
Preferred Qualifications:Â M.S., with minimum 5 years of experience
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationMinimum Experience: 3 years, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experienceMinimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education and project management experience with increasing leadership/management responsibility in electrical, mechanical or plumbing systems and/or planning.
