We are seeking a skilled, bright, and motivated individual to join our team. Will train the right individual in the specifics of our specialty. Great opportunity for long-term success.
Assist senior estimator/project manager in the following areas:
Estimating Duties:
- Review contract drawings and specifications
- Perform detailed and accurate material take-off
- Obtain vendor pricing
- Evaluate and apply appropriate factors for shop and field labor productivity
- Assess project constraints such as access, transportation, schedule, etc.
- Prepare and present proposals to clients for subcontracting services
- Develop and support client relationships
- Complete site visits as needed and make recommendations on which project to submit bids
- Maintain database of project bids, jobs awarded, etc.
Assistant Project Management Duties:
- Coordinate shop drawings when required
- Purchase job-specific materials and prepare submittals for client review and approval
- Negotiate and engage material vendors and sub-tier contractors
- Coordinate construction details with client and other subcontractors
- Monitor material and labor utilization
- Monitor and promote adequate and timely project cost control
- Personally visit the job site to confirm conformance with all the details set forth in the plans and specifications
- Assist with troubleshooting, problem solving, and technical assistance for the shop and field supervisors
- Monitor all changes in the job and prepare change orders when required
- Maintain consistent communications with the client, field, and office to anticipate and resolve any issue that may impact the successful and timely completion of the job
Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, industry standards and risk mitigation
- Typical computer application skills: Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, PlanGrid, Bluebeam
- Experience with HVAC and Sheet Metal Estimating
- Experience with Quote Soft a plus
- Experience with Plumbing Estimating a plus
- Customer service focus, integrity, technical expertise, professionalism
- Need to ability to work independently, under pressure, and utilize effective time management
- Must have a valid CA driver’s license
