Major Duties
Under the general supervision of the Senior Advisor to the President for Inclusive Excellence and Equity Innovation Officer, the Immersive Engagement Program Specialist works to broadly support programmatic efforts that engage students and their families and communities, industry other partners, and HSIs using immersive technologies and web-based platforms to design and lead high-impact Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) programming, virtually and in-person, through the Global HSI Equity Innovation Hub (EIH) at CSUN. The incumbent works to design and implement the EIH virtual engagement platform and identifies and integrates new immersive technologies and approaches to facilitate access to equity-centered student success programming, including whole-family outreach.
Supports the day-to-day programmatic organization and administration of EIH virtual and immersive programming.
Works to cultivate a broad portfolio of immersive and high-impact programming across STEAM disciplines focused on STEAM student success, integrating lesson plans, learning objectives, and student learning outcomes for educators and others to enhance STEAM preparedness and increase equity attainment in STEAM.
Leverages immersive technologies to design and integrate on-site STEAM programming and builds alignment in STEAM equity-centered programming, including whole-family programming connecting families and communities to on-site STEAM programming and technology.
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field required. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, science-related discipline, design, animation, multimedia, visualization technologies, or other area of specialization with technology integration highly preferred. Master of Science preferred.
Equivalent to five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible relevant experience. Oversight and administration of a program with supervision and/or lead experience.
Professional experience creating virtual constructs or immersive programming, designing user-centered immersive and captivating interactive experiences, and conceptualizing and creating interactive digital content experiences preferred.
Experience with deployment for and deployment of VR and AR experiences, and with website and web-based platform development, design, training or virtual curriculum development preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of: general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty, and operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Advanced knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the programmatic efforts, design, implementation, and leadership of STEAM engagement programs.
Ability and specialized skills to: take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved; expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications; ability to train others and provide lead work direction; interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures to develop conclusions and make recommendations; perform basic research and statistical analysis; analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistics; communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated: commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and active engagement in promoting an inclusive culture; understanding of user experience design principles, including their practical application in developing immersive and interactive experiences. Demonstrated ability to: effectively communicate with technical and non-technical users; outline problems, gather information, and make recommendations; to be proactive in recognizing needs, anticipating outcomes and consequences of different approaches, and making necessary modifications to action plans to achieve desired results; assist others in completing assignments and to provide basic work direction; to train others on new skills and procedures.
Experience working with various internal and external partners, constituencies, and stakeholders, including students, alumni, funders, campus faculty, staff administrators, and leaders, to address their needs and/or resolve concerns. Strong familiarity with digital media platforms and products and skill in current technologies. Excellent organizational and project planning, presentation, and time management skills with problem-solving abilities. Ability to coordinate complex projects with minimal direction. A strong record of commitment to and cultivation of equity, inclusion, student success, and deep appreciation for the richly diverse student population that CSUN (and HSIs) serve.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $5537 - $7800 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $5537 - $10014 per month.
HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
